Background: Raised in Limsa to a single mother, Raija was much to herself while her mother worked. As a child she often found herself getting into trouble and fighting with an affinity to fire, a massive contrast to her calm and quiet mother. Naturally the fiery natured woman jumped at the offer of becoming a Marauder and in turn the military. Although her troublesome behavior landed her in the B Company and gained the callsign Hellhound for her tracking ability and habit for setting stuff on fire. As most of her team retired she stayed to complete her contract and likely signing up for another go.Between missions she goes out for drinks and meeting new people. Living day by day for the hell of it.

Fire can not harm them in any way shape or form. This continues to hot weather, they are un-bothered by any sort of heat and their healing speeds up while in/on fire.(clothes must be enchanted to not burn)Hellhounds Vow:
They were bred to guard and must take a vow to where/whom/what they are to guard. This vow is for life and they are unable to break the vow. If their vow becomes obsolete(ie. person or place becomes no more) they lose their purpose to live. Some find themselves guarding whatever is left from their vow(grave, ruins, ect.) slowly losing themselves in the process.Hellhound Nose:
Everything has a scent and with a scent they can track it. Nothing can completely hide something from a hellhound's nose, it can cover it up to make it harder to find but the source still remains.Hunt:
This can lead to lethal or non lethal means. After receiving a scent and going into hunt mode, they can follow the scent through anything, although they can only have one target. While in hunt they become obsessed with finding the target and will rarely stop for anything else.Passage to the Hells:
This can only be done at the end of a lethal hunt and can only take the target if they are gravely wounded. Taking their hellhound form they dig into the earth, opening a portal to the Hells. Once open and their jaws are locked on the target they drag the target in, nothing can save the target once in the hellhound's jaws and in the portal. After the portal closes behind them, the hellhound can not return for another day to a week, depending on how far in Hel the target must go, then they will return back through a portal in the same location.Hellfire Heart:
Hellhounds have the ability to make hellfire, since it comes from their core and shows in their hellhound form. Those more attuned to magic can control their fire and even use it in their magic, others not so attuned to magic can not control it but often are stronger by physical means. Hellfire can not be put out by normal means, simple wind or water can not put it out. Hellfire burns hotter than normal flames and can burn through most armor if not enchanted or made of mithril or hells metals.Gaze upon Deaths Messenger:
When one shifts to their hound form their clothing does not stay on, it burns up if not removed beforehand. Unless the clothing is able to withstand the heat of fire via special enchantment, charmed or the like and then it will be on the ground below them. Some jewelry can be made to specifically stay on when shifted.

Dark magics/witch magics and the like can trap a hellhound and even force them away from a target. Being forced from a target can be maddening for a hellhound especially if they are on hunt.Unbroken Promises:
Much like Fae promises are binding to a hellhound. One must be careful with their words as it will bind them to do things even if they do not want to.Hunts Madness:
If they are unable to catch their prey while in a hunt they will become obsessed. If drawn out for weeks to months they will still chase their target, they won't eat, drink or care for themselves at this point. All that matters is finding the target, anything in their way will be burned or killed till they themselves drop.Bothersome Cold:
Unless specially vowed to protect Hel’s gates in Helheim they can not withstand extreme cold without protection. Fridge waters can freeze them and put out their hellfire core if in it too long. During cold seasons a hellhound must eat a lot more to keep their flame heated or sleep more often in a hibernative kind of state. In the cold they can tire easily.Radiance Harm:

Background
Far from the more civilized and holy religious regions her mother followed her calling and to a Norse village she found her purpose, to protect the people and lands they live on. She was a runt of a hellhound and a rarity, where her mother lacked strength and size she had magic. An even rarer occurrence came when she met Raija’s father and her husband, a massive beast of a hellhound with great strength and towering form. His vow had him leaving often but they were happy in the early years of Raijas childhood.That was till her fathers vow came to light. To a devil of all things, and he forced him to do the unthinkable, attack his very home. It took everyone to defend against him, either that or fend him off till for his vow to tell him to return. Horrified by his betrayal to those he claimed to love, she refused to use a battleaxe like him. She even went as far as to dye her hair black like her mothers natural color to not resemble him.After hearing the news of her fathers betrayal one of her mothers brothers came to train Raija. Him being a strong knight of the sword, vowed to defend the common folk from devil kind. Making it his personal mission to train her to become a great warrior and ready her for her fathers return if it was to come. He became like a second father to her and while his training was strict she reflects on those times fondly. Where her mother taught her how to control the unrivaled rage within her, he led her down the battle hardened path she continues to this day.Where most women were learning how to tend to a house, home and husband she was taught survival, hunting and the art of the battlefield. She was a valued asset to the clan when battle came their way and the blacksmith's fire was always welcome to her as he gained the ability to refine metals for stronger weapons and armor. The time came that her mother felt Raija needed to go out on her own just as her and her siblings had when they reached early maturity. Raija hesitated, reasoning that perhaps her calling would be here too like her mothers. Her mother would not have any of it. As a goodbye gift her uncle and the clan pooled together and got her a FlameTongue Longsword.And so she traveled south, finding the warmer weather far more comfortable than the cooler region she was raised in. She found coin and small kindnesses in killing botherson beasts for small villages, keeping away from the larger cities. It was mercenary work that would bring her to larger cities, good coin and battle, sounded lovely. Except larger cities were more confining and with larger communities came the problem of religious zealots. An issue she removed herself before too big a problem could arise.At least she thought so till her travels trapped her in a church obsessed town as a plague began to take the region. Imprisoned for her hellish origins and aggressive nature she was to be put to the blade. One she didn't expect to take without a fight but the fight never got the chance to come as the church had started to gather an oddity of folks not of their people. Their purpose finally being revealed when a true monster hunter was added to the cells. They were to lead a witch to trial to gain their freedom.And with freedom in some sort of sight she would begrudgingly agree. The path before them led back the way she had come as a second winter began to take hold of the lands. A curse upon the people and the land or so they thought. The girl seemed to be just a young girl, terrified of what to become of her. Then the possessor's true nature was shown, the very devil her father was vowed to. A path of blood and death before them as they chased the monstrosity with little hope of survival. After a great fight only a number of them survived, one she had befriended despite his church following had died protecting them and of course the devil had to inform her fellow party members what she was and who her father was before crumbling the decaying castle atop them with his prize.And so she fled unwilling to find out what the others would do with this new found knowledge. Once again she was on the road riding small villages of inhuman problems.

Condition:
Well built, fit and muscular. Hot blooded in all aspects, fiery nature, has a higher body temperature and is fireproof. Her heart is more like a furnace, a literal core of hellfire wrapped in bone and flesh to the point that she has a dim glow to her chest and eyes in pitch darkness. Due to this her blood is much like oil and is flammable. Being overheated is not an issue for her as it would be for other species.
Frigid winters or super chilled environments on the other hand slow her down and wear her down faster. She either has to eat far more often or take a hibernation like sleep to preserve heat and keep her core aflame. If her temperature drops too low near freezing her core will go out and she will die.
Some may describe her sense of smell as a bloodhound's nose, but a hellhound's nose may just be stronger and with a strong nose makes some smells unbearable. Orange and mint are some of those smells that make her shield her nostrils.

Appearance:
Mortal Form: If not for the unique exterior canine-like bone structure along her cheeks, ribs and spine, her eyes would be the easiest way to tell her apart from humans. With warm rich hues mimicking her hellfire: Teal pupil, yellow gold iris and teal limbal rings. Piercing and heated gaze like the flames burning within.
Scars litter her tall(6’2”/187.96cm) muscular form, one prominent and recent scar being along her ribs, seeming to have fully broken a piece of the armor like bone off. Nordic tattoos decorate her skin from chin, neck, chest, arms and upper back. Many with depictions of flaming and bone like hounds hinting at her true nature. Black tipped pointed ears with two piercings each. Slightly larger canine-like teeth compared to humans.
Her hair is a warm blonde with darkened ends. Simple braids divided her shaved sides and neatly kept long strands from her face, excluding a singular group that occasionally dangles between her eyes.
As someone who lives on the road and packs very light she keeps to lighter clothes. Her usual fire charmed armor being studded leather, with an additional fur lined cloak for winter, but when you're a raging barbarian you need the freedom to rip things to shreds. Being raised the same as any warrior from her home she is more accustomed to mens clothing, preferring simple pants, shirts and boots. She would rather burn a castle down than wear a dress and someone would have to knock her out to put her in one. Then they would need to prepare for one hell of a fight afterwards because the dress would be ash the moment she sees it.
Hound form: From a rage induced bonfire steps out a horse sized beast of blonde short fur, darkened exposed bones and a fierce teal and gold flames pouring from its ribs tailing up its neck and down to its skeleton tail. A massive muscular Doberman-like hound with a haunting skeletal face lined with fur behind the empty eyes sockets with orbs of hellfire. Her core now exposed beneath the armor like bones but the fire engulfing it was a scorcher. Anything charmed to be fireproof laid at her feet. Anything not charmed and removed beforehand was now ash in the wind. Would not advise petting. (picture ref work in progress)

Personality:
The temperamental blonde trope to the fullest, a rage filled warrior with a great dislike to touch.
Strength is of great value to her and showing weakness is dangerous.
She knows her kinds hellish origins and will not openly say what she is.
Being an embodiment of a guard dog, once someone is viewed as a friend she will protect them fiercely. Although they are not fully safe from her own fist. The easiest way to become friends is to drink with her, and drink she can. She is wary of drinking too much wine as she becomes far more sociable and will even let people touch her openly without decking them in the face and might even be caught flirting. Meanwhile, over indulging in Ale may just bring up a bar fight for the hell of it with a cackle of laughter in the mix.
Her favorite things being alcohol of most kinds, meat of any kind and fighting. Secretly she loves a good comfy pillow and blanket pile, but she would never admit this

With certain medicinal herbal mixes their reproductive cycle can be muted but they become rather aggressive during this time. Those who are unable to reduce the effects of the cycle need to distance themselves from others as they are more beast in mind than man.Protecting the One:
Due to her aggressive and combustible tendencies they have a unique way to ensure they don’t harm their mate. While Hellhounds are not bound to enjoy the company of only one person in their life, this ritual can only be done once, marking the person as their mate for life and ensuring the Hellhound's fire will never harm them.Engulfed by Flames:
When enraged she can be engulfed in flames and shift to her hound form.
When she shifts her clothing does not stay on, it burns up if not removed beforehand. Unless the clothing is able to withstand the heat of fire via special enchantment, charmed or the like and then it will be on the ground below them. Her kind were bred to guard and must take a vow to where/whom they are to guard. When she reaches her mid 20s she will start feeling a pull, what hellhounds describe as The Calling. This calling will lead her to her vow. The vow is for life and she will be unable to break the vow. If she ignores the call, the calling will grow louder and louder as years go by; it be all she can think of forcing her to follow. If her vow becomes obsolete(ie. person or place becomes no more) she will lose her purpose to live. Some hellhounds find themselves guarding whatever is left from their vow(grave, ruins, ect.) slowly losing themselves and going mad in the process.Hunt:

Natural Strengths:
Her mortal form’s strength and speed exceeds that of normal humans but would be easily on par with someone who excels in track and strongman competitions. With the sheer mass of the hound form, its strength and speed rivals that of a fierce work horse unwilling to break to man's will and the stamina to keep up. The hound's jaws may be without flesh but the force behind them is nothing to laugh at, a snapping force equal to an alligator. Meanwhile her mortal form has a bite equal to the average medium to large canine.
Her senses take after the k-9s her kind is molded to be (hearing, smell, night vision)Ears as keen as any Shepard and eyes as alert as a greyhound with an added benefit of seeing just as far in darkness. Her nose being her strongest sense, unmatched against any bloodbound or bear. Everything has a scent and with a scent she can track it. Nothing can completely hide something from a hellhound's nose, it can be covered up to make it harder to find but as long as the source still remains she can track it.

Since she could hold a handaxe she was trained to fight, its second nature to her. Through many years of practice she excels in axes, battleaxes and longswords. Although she has a strange hesitation to using battleaxes. Her barbaric rage is how she shifts to her hellhound but she was trained well to be able to withhold the hound to keep herself safe and hide her race. It helps to always be angry.

Voodoo magics/witch magics and the like can trap a hellhound and even force them away from a target. Being forced from a target can be maddening for a hellhound especially if they are hunting whatever the magic may be guarding. Holy magic is also rather painful to her and healing magic does the opposite to this hellhound. She also is unable to use magic, fire being her only ally in these cases.

While her blood is like oil and can catch on fire, Vampires have an unusual attraction to it. It is like an alcoholic drink. What can be compared to an intoxicating fine whiskey with a kicking burn from Hell.

Her vow is ever bonding and if vowed to a person their commands are executive orders she would be unable to break it or go against them. Her greatest fear is becoming a puppet for someone else to use like her father and his vow.

History:
Garmr and Ylva were both in the Russian secret service and were paired together. The Russian government intended on matching them together in hopes for a mating pair of hellhounds, treating the two more like beasts than people. It succeeded in a child, they named Selby. Unfortunately when war broke out, they fled and the child did not make it. The American military eagerly took them in as their information and skill helped in the cold war.They stayed together through the years, feeling that their shared time was for not and felt comfort in being with someone they knew in a completely different place. Another child came from them, little Raija, or in Ylva’s case not so little. They thought another child might connect them better and things would just click into place. This was not the case. Garmr dived more into his work, taking mission after mission, leaving Ylva to take care of the rowdy little hellhound.With Garmr still in the service they moved often and Ylva put Raija into sports of all kinds to calm her fiery energy but little worked. It was years till she found out music would be the key since Raija could hardly keep friends and staying with a sports team for more than a year was unachievable but music classes seemed easier to keep track of. Once Raija found her instrument it became everyone else's problem. Drums shouldn't have been much of a surprise; she loved beating on things and people….Things were going good at home, her father was home a bit more, they went to rock concerts together and the moving slowed down, she would be able to finish highschool in one place. Then one day her father called, it was an odd phone call but he would be home soon so all was well. Till the black van stopped in front of the house and told them he wouldn't be coming home again and a funeral would be scheduled. Raija didn't understand he had just called but her mother signaled for her to stay quiet. Once they were gone her mother grew somber and refused to elaborate on anything, saying it would cause more trouble than needed. After all, Ylva was still raising their child and she wanted Raija to live a good life away from combat and war. But Raija had already set it in her mind she would find out. When she turned 18 she signed up for the marines. A joyful day for the military to gain a hellhound, and a grieving day for her mother.Raija was able to let her violent side run wild in the marines, rising in rank and joining a task force. Unbeknownst to them she was looking for her father and she would find him sooner than expected when he attacked the task force. With terrible losses and her return home gravely wounded she was put as a reserve after a long recovery. 6 years she had been in, hunted for her government without mercy and finally found out the truth, or part of it. Her father had vanished and joined some sort of secret society or something, she had gotten too close and her comrades had paid the ultimate price.Refusing to sit around while recovering she spent a year leaving offerings and apologies to the families of her teammates. The last one being in Miami. They had played music together and they didn't really have much left besides a band they once played with and had been trying to get Raija to join. Seeing it as a sign she joined the band, The Hels Rejects. It seemed right and gave her something to do. The music helped her and she decided to stay with the band as it grew.
